Me:
I'm goal driven, have zero tact and am painfully frank/honest. I prefer intelligent, complex people who are straightforward but exceptionally sincere with their interactions. I don't vibe well with people who don't have a secure grasp of their emotional intellect. I'm chill to the point nothing offends me.
The following is to prove I'm human, with the hope you'll respect my camp here:
The very first <img src="https://community.akamai.steamstatic.com/economy/emoticon/comp" alt=":comp:" class="emoticon"> PC game I played was <a class="bb_link" href="https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilter/?url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugo_III,_Jungle_of_Doom!" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer" >Hugo III, Jungle of Doom</a> <span class="bb_link_host">[en.wikipedia.org]</span> and <a class="bb_link" href="https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilter/?url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugo_II,_Whodunit%3F" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer" >Hugo II, Whodunit</a> <span class="bb_link_host">[en.wikipedia.org]</span>. I played in the proper order but I liked looking for spider venom in the jungle more (a.k.a. III was harder than II). They were part of a mystery game trilogy following <a class="bb_link" href="https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilter/?url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugo's_House_of_Horrors" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer" >Hugo's House of Horrors</a> <span class="bb_link_host">[en.wikipedia.org]</span> and were released consecutively in 1990, '91 and '92. They were <a class="bb_link" href="https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilter/?url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DOS" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer" >DOS</a> <span class="bb_link_host">[en.wikipedia.org]</span> games my dad gave me and my little brother on <img src="https://community.akamai.steamstatic.com/economy/emoticon/floppybird" alt=":floppybird:" class="emoticon"> 3½ inch floppy disks <img src="https://community.akamai.steamstatic.com/economy/emoticon/disk" alt=":disk:" class="emoticon">. We also got a <a class="bb_link" href="https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilter/?url=https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Corporate/Nintendo-History/Super-Nintendo/Super-Nintendo-627040.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer" > <b>Super Nintendo</b> (SNES)</a> <span class="bb_link_host">[www.nintendo.co.uk]</span> around the same time, laying a forever winding road of (now classic) game paks towards oblivion. :ArcwoodRanger:
Dad used to take us to arcades <i>a lot</i> . As my brother and I were shy, it was the worst thing ever (personally) but that's exactly why he'd do it so often. Weekend after weekend of video arcades and decades of video games later, it all still reminds me so much of Dad. I don't talk about it a lot but they give me a safe hideaway to rid the demons that my dad can't fight away for me anymore. <img src="https://community.akamai.steamstatic.com/economy/emoticon/Owl" alt=":Owl:" class="emoticon">
As I grew up I battled through the usual lineup of <b>GB/DMG</b> (several), <b>GBA/AGB, N64, PS1/PSX, PSP-1000 and PSP-2000.</b> Current Consoles are: <b>NDSL, N3DS, NS and PS4.</b> I like an assortment of games, :controller: console/PC alike, and enjoy indie titles as much as AAAs.
<b> <u>The origin of my gaming handle</u> </b> is from a habit as a writer. Infatuation in the collecting of dreary words that sound like "fantasmical" character names when side by side, and roll off the tongue easily like a limerick gave me Tawny Lawns in a split second when deciding a handle for YT. Also, I enjoy being in, and am comforted by fields of dry, browning grass and hay. Envisioning lifelessness depleted of moisture like that of "tawny lawns" offers me an ironic illusion of salubriousness.
Codex from <i>The Guild</i> is similar to how I feel inside. I'm pretty hardcore on the outside but deep down I'm closed off and shivering like a baby tortoise in its shell. <img src="https://community.akamai.steamstatic.com/economy/emoticon/sb_turtle" alt=":sb_turtle:" class="emoticon"> Games release me from the dungeons and let me revel in my eccentricities.
<u> <b>IF YOU READ ALL OF THIS FOR SOME REASON AND WE'RE NOT ALREADY FRIENDS, I FEEL LIKE WE SHOULD BE.</b> </u>
